SOUND: Static crackles. A dial turning. Soft jazz fades in.

DJ VOICE
(warm, tired)
You're listening to WKND, your companion through the small hours. It's 2:47 AM, and I'm here if you are.

SOUND: Phone line clicking.

DJ VOICE (CONT'D)
Caller, you're on the air.

CALLER (V.O.)
(hesitant)
I... I just needed to hear another voice. Is that strange?

DJ VOICE
Strange? No. Human? Absolutely.

Pause. The jazz plays softly underneath.

CALLER (V.O.)
Do you ever feel like the whole city is asleep except for you?

DJ VOICE
Every night. But here's the secret—there are thousands of us, awake in the dark, keeping each other company through the static.
